Here you go :) A quick piece of Beyond Birthday :D and no.. this is not L.. this is B.

*spoiler*

In the Death Note: L.A. BB Murder Cases, B is an exact replica of L, even in terms of eating habits. Even his facial features were described as L's. Anyway, B.B. is baiscally a rival of L, he wants to beat L thus, creating murders with clues that L wouldn't be able to solve. Sometimes, B wears a mask. Although it never really described how his mask looked like, I just drew in a Jabbawockeez mask for the sake of it :D Need more? BUY THE NOVEL! IT's GREAT! :D

lol that's where the confusion comes in :) It's in the Death Note spinoff novel called 'Deathnote: Los Angeles BB Murder Cases' you should check it out! Pretty cool!

It acctually states the first sentence in the book in a deferent wording.
